Confession Content

We store only the text of your confession, optional tags, and timeframe. No metadata that could identify you is collected.

Technical Data (Anonymized)

For spam prevention, we create a one-way hash of your IP address using a salt. This cannot be reversed to identify you, but helps us prevent abuse.

What We DON'T Collect

• Names, emails, or contact information
• Raw IP addresses
• Browser fingerprints
• Location data
• Social media profiles
• Any personally identifiable information

IP Address Hashing

Your IP address is immediately processed through a one-way cryptographic hash function with a unique salt. This creates a fingerprint for rate limiting without storing your actual IP address.

Data Encryption

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest in our database. Even if someone gained access to our servers, your confessions would be protected.

No Account Linking

Since we don't use accounts, there's no way to link multiple confessions to the same person or build a profile of your activity.

Moderation Process

All confessions are reviewed by moderators before appearing publicly. This is done to ensure community safety, not to identify users.

Data Retention

Approved confessions are kept indefinitely to maintain the community archive. Rejected submissions are deleted after 30 days. Rate limiting data is automatically purged after 24 hours.

No Data Sales

We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Your confessions are for the community, not for profit.

Deletion Requests

Since we can't identify which confession is yours, we can't delete specific confessions on request. This is actually a feature - it ensures true anonymity.

Data Portability

All approved confessions are publicly visible on the confession wall. There's no additional personal data to export.
